2.03: Peter Glawson: Lyric’s “Star”

Again, just some random pictures. Peter Glawson (not his real name) first appeared in Lyric’s products in 1968 at the age of 12. He quickly became popular in Lyric’s mail order short nudist films, and eventually starred in “The Genesis Children”. He became the “quiet leader” of the Lyric boys, and was known for his sincere affection ( he was very protective of the younger boys) and his love of animals.

So, he was born in 1956. Today, he is 52 YO. He was so cute! He must be a handsome man. I hope he keeps great memories of those days when he was a young star of youth beauty. I am 68 myself. I wish I had known him since I’m convinced he was a great sensitive and generous boy. Bravo! Thanks, Claude

I too spent my teens in the 1960’s, a stranger in a big city (London).
I could tell some tales of the new era, of the magazines that told a boy he was ‘not alone’, proved that someone else saw things in the same light, had the same dreams and lived with the same endless desire.

I don’t have the gift of story telling, but I have the gift of knowing a story well told. I thank you for your efforts, they are very much appreciated. You take me back to meet my lost loves, and you bring up from some forgotten part of me the sheer wonderment of being 16, the shy smiles, knowing looks, hopeful thoughts and agonising patience before all would be swept away, consumed by passion.

Your writing does all this, you write perfectly. Perhaps because it is so much hard work that it is so perfect – you commit yourself to each and every page, every sentence perhaps. Struggling with dyslexia may be making you work hard, and achieve more.
In any case, thank you for allowing me to also say a sometimes uncomfortable ‘Hello’ to a few old friends.

    My regards to Peter.

Thank yo so much David… Kind words from an obviously kind soul. Peace Tristan

Master Glawson, perfection. I had a whole cd of just about every pic taken of him. Lost to the ages, just like him.

  6. Barry Says:

Glawson and others in his company inspired me to begin writing stories about being of help to young gay boys trying to cope with the realization. I have written some regarding a young boy who lived with me for 8 years. They are all available to those interested on the internet. Google:

    Forgive me Jody

Justin, my gift from Fr. Christopher

    just for starters.

i was born in 1956 too.i was a nudist myself and saw some of peters early pics.i met a guy named ed who was into nudist photo work in 1970.i posed for him at 13 indoors and outdoors, and i loved it.i met him at a nudist camp in penn in the summer of 1970. its just to bad that era has gone, in mags anyway. peter glawson to me was an icon in this era of nudism. for youth comes only for a short time. i still enjoy old nudist vids and pics from the great era-1960s and 70s. bobby pell was also a early nudist youth in mags.

I was afraid I was the omly old guy here. It’s nice to know I can talk to someone that remembers when. Born in 1935, I remember a lot and have seen a lot. Really to bad the way this world has changed.

I know I said this before, but where do boys go, when they are not aloud to be anyehere in these days. Gees you can’t hang out any place now!

I’m pretty sure they don’t call it hanging out anymore, but that’s what we did way back when. sunny

  9. sunny Says:

Yeah there I go again! I forgot to say what I wanted to say.
I always wondered who this boy was. He held his looks very well, right into his teenage years. He always looked happy in his photos.
I never saw hime in a movie, to scared to buy one.

  10. G Says:

    Hey Sunny,
All of Peter (and his friends) films that are still available at all commercially should be legal-at least in the U.S. Maybe not Britain and a few (very few) other places tho unfortunately. The Genesis Children (the only “talkie”) is easily gotten. Again I don’t know about Britain. G

  11. Baz Says:

    Hi G / Sunny
The Genesis Children isn’t available in the UK. Just as you have your classifications in the US, we have our British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). The film does appear on their website. The issue is not one of legality (in terms of content), simply that it has never been submitted for classification by the BBFC. A UK supplier can’t sell an unclassified film in the UK.
You have a company, Childhood Visions Movie Club (www.cvmc.net) that has the film available for rental in the US. They also have a remastered, uncut DVD version which is available to buy. It’s in the format DVD-R, Region-0, NTSC. The UK is region 2, but region 0 is effectively ALL regions, so that shouldn’t prevent it playing over here. Our TV format is PAL, but most modern PAL DVD players will cope with NTSC format, though there may be some loss of quality in the conversion.
Virtually any PC DVD player should play the movie, they’re designed to ignore any region codes, and can handle both formats. Some may not be able to output it to a TV though, but it will display on the PC monitor.
Importing it into the UK could incur additional Customs taxes.
There is a possibility that Customs could open, and view the film, and depending upon their stance with regard to our obscenity laws, this could cause problems. I believe though, that CVMC have supplied movies to the UK with no problems, also I understand that the US classification board regarded it as “benign” – it’s classification resulting solely from the amount of nudity.
    Cheers, Baz.

  12. Baz Says:

OOPS, should have read “doesn’t appear on their website”.

  14. Rudi Says:

OMG! 56? Peter is older than me? haha. All those decades ago when I collected his pictures, I never knew.

This is a great site, informative and pleasing to the eye… and memories. Thank you.

  15. Anthony Says:

I live in the UK and I bought this movie on DVD from Azov Films and it arrived still sealed and had not been opened by Customs. I don’t think its true about UK suppliers not being allowed to sell non BBFC-classified films. You can’t show them to the public in a cinema, but even that can be over-ruled by a local authority, as is evident in some of the many “underground” or specialist film clubs, especially prevalent in London.

  17. VMan Says:

It is sad that we sell everything with sex and yet nudity is a vile thing.

There are still boys out there who don’t fear to be nude, but despite the net, this monster of communication, their is a fear of sharing it.

Peter understood nudity wasn’t sex, it wasn’t pornography.

Sad the world has lost it’s innocence.

    Amen VMan!

BTW, do you know of Tristans other site? It is much more active than this one at the moment. If you haven’t already, why don’t you join us for Tristans epic saga entitled “A Rentboy Named…”. You won’t regret it, I assure you. It is at: http://arentboynamed.wordpress.com/

If you choose to join us there, do yourself a favor and read the background of the story here first: http://arentboynamed.wordpress.com/1002-faq-about-the-story/

The FAQ page will answer a lot of questions that always come up. Additionally the “comments section” after each chapter will also answer many things. The comments will also introduce you to the tight knit community of readers, of which I am one. You are welcome to join us!

I happened to notice that you have already been added to the list of readers that Tristan has recently thanked on the RB Homepage for your “kind words”. But I didn’t remember seeing you among the recent posters on RB. So it occurred to me that you may not have noticed the Rentboy link on the TGC site.

As you may have noticed from the dates of the posts here on TGC , new posters are generally responded to, to help them catch up. No one is ignored or excluded or made to feel like a newby. Questions are answered, or people are pointed towards where more comprehensive answers are provided.

Also many new friendships have been started on these pages. You may have noticed on TGC’s “Off Topic Page”, the friendship between Sunny and Lauklin. Well that started, originally, on the RB (Rentboy) site, and then migrated over here. There have been many such conversations. You, and all who read over here, are welcome to join them.

    Till next time, G
