G.
First, thank you for your words.
Woke up 2:30 AM Sunday it's now 4:33 AM.... I'm sitting here looking at this PC trying to get my head to work... Been reading your words and Lauklin words sent back to me.

Entertainments. [ Keep us busy while they hide the truth of what they're really doing from us. ]

Defend ourselves. Gun Registration. I just Deleted what I typed here. My head is in a muddle right now so I'm going to go for now, but I will be back.

The first order of the New World Order... Deplete the Population by two thirds.
The Rich want it all for themselves.

You go to a great deal of work to bring me, or us this very important information; and I for one appreciate it very much.

SAME, not sure if it stopped working, or I did.

1 of my saying/ I've got to go somewhere and think about this.

Hey Lauklin,
I agree totally. I guess I missed the point. For the record,I wasn't trying 2 imply u were a Marxist or anything (haha), I was just exploring the subject a bit. And yes I believe a person can have right wing beliefs and a (so-called) left wing conscious. I read of a study awhile back in which it was found that conservatives were more generous to charities than liberals were. Of course It's obvious they didn't include Tristan in that study or the numbers would've been a bit more even. Many liberals are generous too, not all think caring for the unfortunate is the govts job. I guess it's just that the numbers of people on the right who think charity is the govts job, instead of theirs, approaches zero. This can't help but affect their giving. Nuff on that, I'm like a junkie sometimes I swear :) ! I wonder if there's a 12 Step Program for political philosophy junkie-ism?

BTW, I've read every comment you've probably ever made, including yours and Sunny's ongoing conversation, and you strike me as being one of the more clever guys who post here, also deep and sensitive as well.

I, too, come off much "better" when writing than talking. For one thing I fiddle with what I've written for awhile, and re-read the post(s) or chapters I'm responding to. Then when I send it, I re-read it a few times. There are ALWAYS mistakes, which drives me nuts and spurs me 2 proofread better next time.

For what it's worth, I think you and Sunny should meet, if it's convenient. What could it hurt? You don't have 2 tell "us". You could just arrange it by email, and keep it 2 yourselves until/unless u each agreed 2 tell "the site".

Till next time, G

Hi G

The wealth gap I was refering to was between nations rather than within a society.

I also came from a dirt floor poor back ground, I recently purchased a new pick up. I could only do that thru hard work. I also believe that people who work harder than their neibours should benifit from that labour. My only regret is that not all people have that right. Some people are over looked to be employed for all sorts of reasons. Age, gender, colour , religion etc. What really gets my back up is when I see a report that a CEO has been given a muti million dollar bonus for laying off thousands of workers and saving a company money so it can be shared out to investors.

I think theres a possibility that societies could and should share wealth on a more even basis. I also believe that you don't get something for nothing. My only hope is that we can all have an equal opportunity thru education and acceptance.

Is it possible to have a right wing attitude with a left wing concionce.

Wish I was cleverer,
Lauklin

Hi Sunny

So glad your feeling better, I did read your poem but I rarely offer opinions on such writtings. I prefer to just take it in and enjoy it.

It was very sad to read about Lenny, it's such a shame when young poeple lose their lives in such a tragic way. My oldest son was killed in a car wreck, it hurts me too this day just to say that.

Society would suggest it's a measure of a man to be able to pick up and go on in the face of such adversity, but it's also a test I wouldn't wish upon anyone.

In a way, this story reflects so much of the lives we all have lived. The full specrum of emotion is in these words that Tristan writes, this story could well be a documentary but it's far to truthful.

You asked me a question recently, you asked me why I wrote "I guess". I often say that because it seems we live in a world that forgets we have the right to speak our minds. So I say "I guess".

Sometimes I also wish I could meet up with a lot of the folks on these pages, you all seem just a little closer than most other people I meet on the internet.

Sunny, you are closer than most, I find myself looking for words written by you. I hope you find comfort in knowing people really care for you, even if they can't tell you face to face. It dosent matter where I live, it's not distance that keeps me from meeting you, it's my own inabilty to have meaningful realtionships with adults. I can write words but I can't speak them. I can relay a thought but I can't think them in real time. Thats my broken bit.

Well, I guess I should get going now, thank you for being here from time to time, I also get a great deal of satisfaction speaking with you and it helps to lighten my load.

Take care and be well my friend

10:33 AM Friday/ The power was off this morning, so I just laid there until 7/
Some wires touching or something, Hot Wires, the high up ones at the top of the pole/ What are they, like 24 thousand Volts I guess/

Anyway it was back on right around 9:45, so it wasn't to bad/
Boiled water and ran it through the coffee maker to help the bakery across the park/ They open at 6:30 and the place was packed/

Funny how people no the power is off, but they think the bakery should have coffee ready for them/

Just wanted to say Hi..... caring.... sunny

L..... It's 1:08 AM here/ Friday 27/ laid down at 10:30/ wide awake at 12:50/
Excessive/ I wonder how much the RICH need when they die/

Nature/ I like to watch the creatures in the morning, they run and chaise one another and enjoy the morning for a few minutes/ then they get to work looking for food/
People get up already ticked off/ I know I did for 22 years/ Gulp down a few cups of coffee and head for work/

And the man said, if christ himself wanted a minute of my time, I won't have it. What's that you just said? Ask St. Peter.

I came over here about 1:30/ it's now 1:58/ I'm just writing what crosses my mind/ Well not really, I'm being careful what I write/

Foster Parent/ I had 5 boys over about 4 years/ it was good, good for them and good for me/ Because of my background I got kids with Drug and Alcohol Problems/ My first boy was Lenny, he ask me if he could call me Pop, I said yes/ He couldn't stay away from the Drugs and killed himself when he was 19/

That still tears me up, when I think about it/

You didn't mention my Poem/ I wrote that a long time ago, but right now I can't think why I put it here/

I wish this world wasn't so screwed up/ I would love to be able to just drive up to your place and sit down over a cup of coffee and talk the day away with you/

I think we would be real good friends, even in real time/

I like it when somebody I just met says, nice to meet you/ some times, under my breath, I say, maybe!/

I felt better when I got here and saw your name/ thanks for being there when I need to ramble/ and sharing your thoughts with me/

2:29 AM I think I'll lay down again and see if I can sleep a little more/

I've traveled so far; and all I've done is come home. Gandhi

I've traveled so far, but in the end, I get to go home. Me

How the weather there?/ is it spring, summer, winter/ hot or cold?

Suppose to be cold for the next couple days here/ Northern Florida is suppose to be down in the 30s/ Mite be in the 40s here, but just in the morning, before sun up/ I'm pretty far south and on a Island in the Gulf.

I better go for awhile, I like to be up by 6 and get my day started/

Hope this found you well friend.

Hey Lauklin,

I take your point about the gap between rich & poor. However as a former member of "the poor" & a current member of the "middle class", I see it a bit differently. I have NEVER minded the gap. On the contrary I have always considered those who DO mind the "gap" between rich & poor to have an "envy & coveting problem" they need to work out. As long as "the rich" earned or inherited their wealth legally, I say good 4 them. We need people to be capable of getting rich so we can all have our own dreams. I can think of few things more depressing than to live in a society in which, no matter how hard or smart you work, you will never be able to rise above your fellows. What a dull, gray dreary existance to live like an ant, a bee, or a Chinese or North Korean peasant on a commune.

Actually I don't believe there has been a single society in history that has fallen simply because the gap between rich and poor got beyond a certain point. Some have fallen due to unchecked graft and other corruption by the wealthy, but not simply due to the wealth itself. Some have fallen due to excessive tax demands on the people by the govt. But the crucial thing is that the people believe that they have the opportunity to advance themselves without interference by the rich or the govt. And to be able to keep the lions share of their income and pass along wealth to their children without any significant confiscation of wealth at their death. Mentally healthy people don't mind working for a living and seeing others a million times wealthier around them, as long as it was gotten honestly. And as long as they can keep almost all of their earnings and not have it taxed to support those who don't or won't work (be they poor or rich). People shouldn't be "bailed out" by the govt whether they are billionaire bankers or penniless paupers. That's not what this country was founded on. No one is either too big or too little to fail. Or too all-fired important or too powerless and pathetic to be kept from learning from their failure. G

Hey Sunny,
That letter you wrote to that someone you admire was beautiful, and very well written.

I got my phone working again, for how long I don't know.

Thank you for your kind words. Although I know I'm too opinionated for most peoples taste, it's still nice to have what I write taken in the spirit it was intended. In answer to your question, I don't know if we will ever get our freedoms back without going to the extremes that our Founding Fathers went to in the 1st place to get them. Or what we had to do to hold our nation together, and at the same time achieve freedom for blacks in the 1860's. We may have to have another Civil or Revolutionary War, tho I hope not, so it's imperitive that we defend our right to own guns. I don't have one, but I'll get one if I think we are getting "there". I hope it doesn't come to that! To paraphrase one of our Founding Fathers, "In order to live, the tree of Liberty must be watered, from time to time, with the blood of tyrants--it is it's natural manure!"

I do not know if most people can see the true problems, let alone the solutions. But I have no doubt that most see "problems". But we lack humility and common sense of a mostly rural nation as we once were. And lack the depth of thought that comes from not having a million entertainments to distract our minds with. It will get "sorted out", but I hate to think what we may have to go thru to get there.

You say you're having ups and downs. Is the SAME not helping anymore?

Till next time, G

PS: Sunny,

I think it's wonderful that you can foster kids that need some help, a home or just a friend. That would be something to really be proud of.

I hope you stay just the way you are but can see how wonderful that really is.

Keep well my friend

I was going to write about left and right wing politics just now, but I suddenly realised I no longer give a shit about all that.

History teaches us that societies fail when the gap between the wealthy and the poor becomes excessive. Nature works because there is a ballance, we could learn from nature.

Success for me is when you can look in the mirror and be satisfied and happy with yourself and the life you have lived.

If your not happy and content, change !!!

Take care all
